An Iowa City man married to his wife for several years was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting her.
The arrest report indicated that the couple, consisting of 69-year-old George Parker and his wife, have lived together for several years. At approximately 8:48am, Parker allegedly struck the woman with a fork on the side of her head, causing a cut to her head.
Parker reportedly admitted to committing the act, and was arrested. He was charged with Domestic Assault 2nd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.
