A Chicago man was arrested Monday on a warrant stemming from an alleged OWI earlier in the month.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Highway 1 and Mormon Trek Boulevard just after 10pm on the 21st.  29-year-old Darien Hardmon’s 2024 Land Rover was stopped for reportedly speeding. He allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the night and showed initial signs of impairment.

A probable cause search reportedly turned up marijuana in the vehicle, along with a Ziploc bag containing a small amount of the substance. Both PBT and Datamaster tests showed no alcohol on his breath, and Hardmon allegedly submitted to a urine sample.

A warrant was issued on December 24th; he was arrested Monday and charged with OWI first offense, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all counts, Hardmon could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail.
