Driving the wrong way on a one-way street has led to an OWI charge against an Iowa City woman.

Friday morning at approximately 1:19am, 23-year-old Regan Watkins was observed heading southbound on North Governor Street, a one-way heading north. When she turned off Governor, a traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of Lucas and Ronald streets.

Watkins was reportedly confused as to why she was stopped, and allegedly admitted to having a few alcoholic beverages.  She performed poorly and stumbled multiple times on field tests. A PBT reportedly showed a breath-alcohol level of .250 percent, over three times the legal limit. A Datamaster reading showed it at .243 percent.

Watkins was charged with her first OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
