Multiple agencies responded to a Christmas morning mobile home fire in North Liberty.

Firefighters were called to 128 Golfview Court in the Golfview Estates manufactured housing community just before 5:30 a.m. for flames showing from the roof of the residence. Departments from North Liberty, Coralville, and Solon all responded.

The North Liberty Police Department was the first to arrive and witnessed fire coming from the roof on the east side of the structure. Home occupants were awakened by neighbors and evacuated safely.

As North Liberty fire units arrived, firefighters deployed hose lines to knock down the fire, which was located on the exterior and interior of the building along the roof line.  There were no working smoke detectors sounding upon the arrival of the fire department. The home occupants are displaced and are staying with relatives in the area.

Crews were on the scene for just under two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A loss estimate is unavailable at this time.
