Washington Police accepting donations for four children removed from their residence due to unsafe conditions

The Washington Police Department and EMS are teaming up to help the Washington community make a difference in the lives of the four children who were removed from their home this week.
“Members of the community have been reaching out asking how they can help and with the permission of family, we are working together to give the community an opportunity to support these kids,” explained Washington Chief of Police Jim Lester and Washington Fire/EMS Chief Brendan DeLong. “Together we can make this season a little brighter for some children in need.”
Beginning today (Saturday 12-21-2024 through Monday 12-23-2024) community members may drop off donations at City Hall, 215 East Washington Street. Items needed include: ALL ITEMS
SHOULD BE NEW AND UNWRAPPED
• Girls Clothing (including hats, coats, gloves): Sizes 4T – 5T – Kids Large or X-S women’s
• Girls Shoes: Kids size 6 & 7-8 and adult size 2 and adult size 3
• School Supplies for 11-year-old girls
• Hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.) NO perfume soap or lotions due to allergies.
• Non-Perishable snacks and food items
• Toys for girls ages 3, 5 and 11
All donations will be provided to the children through their current caretaker.
Washington Police and EMS will work together to make sure the donated items are delivered before Christmas!
