Felony drug charges have been dismissed against a New Mexico man arrested after a North Liberty traffic stop last year.

Court records show last week Judge Brandon Schrock dismissed a Controlled Substance Violation and a charge of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp against 28-year-old Harrison Nyquist-Asmussen of Albuquerque. North Liberty Police say Nyquist-Asmussen was one of three passengers in 2023 Toyota RAV 4 stopped in November of last year for going 52 miles an hour in a 35 mile per hour zone near the intersection of Alexander Way and Linger Lane. A search of the vehicle reportedly turned up numerous items to grow and distribute marijuana, 193 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a glass pipe with meth residue. Another person in the vehicle…24-year-old Kegan Myers of Hiawatha…was also reportedly in possession of a Glock 43X.

Charges against Myers and the third occupant of the car…31-year-old Andres Beltran of Albuquerque…were dismissed last December.
