One person has died in a head-on collision in Iowa County.

The Iowa State Patrol says 52-year-old William Myers of Marengo was driving a 2009 Ford Escape on the 2000 block of 210th Street, northwest of Williamsburg, just after 2:30 Tuesday afternoon when he crossed the centerline while negotiating a curve. Myers hit head-on a semi owned by J&J Cattle Company and being driven by 65-year-old Russell Trimble of Marengo.

Myers, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene. Trimble was not listed as injured by the State Patrol.

The State Patrol says there is no indication why Myers drifted into oncoming traffic.
