A Cedar Rapids man allegedly caught smoking marijuana outside an Iowa City business faces felony charges after he reportedly had several baggies of the drug in his possession.
Iowa City Police say they noticed 25-year-old Donald Adams of Bentley Drive smoking marijuana outside Wright House of Fashion…the former location of Varsity Cleaners on South Gilbert Street…just before 10:00 Saturday night. Adams was reportedly found with eight bags of marijuana totaling 64 grams as well as U.S. currency.
Adams is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
