A Coralville man who was arrested last month on domestic assault charges has been charged with contempt for violating a no-contact order.

Coralville Police were called to a domestic disturbance on Fairview Drive just before midnight November 21st. The alleged victim reported she and the father of her child, 29-year-old Taylor Stout, had been in an argument when he slammed her against the bathroom wall, held a knife to her head, and threatened to kill her while pretending to stab her.  The woman said at one point, Stout also held the knife against his own throat while he was screaming at her. Police say a red mark could be seen on the woman’s throat where Stout allegedly held the knife.

The couple’s eight-month-old son was on a nearby bed and allegedly witnessed the entire incident.

Stout was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault While Displaying or Using a Weapon, Child Endangerment and 1st Degree Harassment. A no-contact order was issued by Judge Brandon Schrock.

On November 24th, Stout allegedly posted a family photo on Facebook which included images of the woman and child, in direct violation of the no-contact order.

Stout was additionally charged with two counts of Violation of No-Contact Order. The charges stemming from the November 21st incident could lead to a maximum sentence of six years in prison if convicted on all counts.
