Iowa man charged after allegedly failing to cooperate with authorities at Friday football game

An Iowa man who tried to sneak alcohol into Kinnick Stadium Friday night was caught and charged after refusing to cooperate with authorities.

Individuals caught with contraband alcohol in the stadium are ejected, and 18-year-old Deon Lopez of Carlisle Iowa was allegedly caught concealing alcohol. He was advised to sign the University of Iowa rejection card for the infraction, but refused and also refused to leave the premises.

Lopez provided his name with a different spelling and claimed that he was 21 years old. A search of his person turned up a fictitious ID.

Lopez was charged with Interference with Official Acts, Providing false information, and possession of a fictitious ID. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to a maximum 14 months in jail.
