A Cedar Rapids man who was reportedly involved in an altercation with his brother in downtown Iowa City late Friday night was arrested after allegedly refusing to cooperate with police.

According to court documents, officers were attempting to separate 21-year-old Mickeal Davis of 9th Street Southwest from his brother while investigating a separate incident.  Davis was advised to move away so that officers could address the separate incident, but he allegedly refused to listen and said that he did not care.

Police then physically removed Davis from the scene and advised him that if he came any closer, he would be arrested.  Davis returned shortly thereafter and was taken into custody.

A search incident to arrest allegedly turned up marijuana in the pocket of Davis’ sweatshirt.

He was charged with Interference with Official Acts and Marijuana Possession first offense, and could face up to 13 months in jail if convicted on both counts.
