An Ankeny man was taken into custody over the weekend after an alleged assault on his live-in domestic partner.
The incident occurred at around 1am Friday on the 1500 block of South Gilbert Street in Iowa City. According to the victim, 45-year-old Christopher Bohlman struck her in the face multiple times and slammed her head into a car window. Officers observed injuries to the woman’s face and mouth upon arrival.
Bohlman was allegedly observed with signs of intoxication including bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of ingested alcohol. He reportedly admitted to having consumed alcohol but refused a PBT.
