An Iowa City woman was arrested after an investigation revealed she allegedly sold or possessed narcotics on different occasions.

On the afternoon of July 19th, 46- year-old Shenna Smilgis was observed in possession of and delivering methamphetamine at an unspecified address on Bloomington Street. After the drug field-tested positive, it was sent to the state crime lab for verification.

Smilgis was found the afternoon of August 9th in possession of quantities of suspected GHB and methamphetamine. She reportedly delivered the drugs to an individual. The drugs were sent to the crime lab and later confirmed to be meth and butanediol.

Smilgis was allegedly observed processing and delivering an ounce of Meth at or near her Brown Street residence on September 23rd; the meth was sent for further testing as well.

A search warrant was executed on her residence September 26th, where officers reportedly found her in possession of alprazolam.

A warrant was requested, and Smilgis was arrested Tuesday night. She’s been charged with four controlled substance violations and three counts of failure to affix tax stamp. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 85 years in prison.
