Cedar Rapids man facing multiple felony drug possession charges

A Cedar Rapids man faces prison time after allegedly being found in possession of several different narcotics.

Police came upon 28-year-old Cole Calvert of Deb Ann Lane SE earlier this year, passed out in the driveway of a residence on the 3300 block of Rochester Avenue. At about 11pm July 2nd, they allegedly found open needles with drugs in plain view. The drugs were sent to the DCI lab for testing, and came back positive.

Among then narcotics in Calvert’s possession were Fluraprazolam, Heroin, Ketamine, Fentanyl and Methaphetamine, as well as one prescription drug.

A warrant was requested, and Calvert was taken into custody Sunday afternoon. He faces 5 counts of possession of a controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent offense, and Unlawful possession of a prescription drug. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to up to 26 years in prison.
