Iowa City Police have charged two subjects they say vandalized a construction site next to city hall.

Earlier this month, the ICPD sent out a news release including photos of a pair of suspects in the case. Police now say 19-year-old Kadan Hansen of Leon, Iowa and 18-year-old Jesse Felton of Woodburn, Iowa are each charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief. Arrest records indicate the two entered the construction site at 410 East Washington Street just before 12:15 on the morning of November 5th. The pair allegedly pushed over a temporary construction fence, overturned a portable toilet, broke a liquor bottle in the parking lot, and bent a back windshield wiper on a nearby vehicle. The entire incident was captured on security video.

The two suspects allegedly claimed they were extremely intoxicated and didn’t remember much of what happened. If convicted, Hansen and Felton each face a maximum of 30 days in jail.
