Iowa City man sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for receiving child pornography

An Iowa City man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

According to public court documents, law enforcement received multiple CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that 23-year-old Cody Andrew Long had uploaded files containing child sexual abuse material. Law enforcement searched Long’s cell phone and a computer located at Long’s Iowa City residence, which revealed approximately 100 images and 25 videos of child sexual abuse material.

After completing his term of imprisonment, Long will be required to serve an eight-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. Long was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution. In addition, Long will be required to register as a sex offender.
