A Coralville man who eluded police during a large fight in downtown Iowa City last month has been arrested.

According to the criminal complaint, 34-year-old Anthony Williams of Metric Road was involved in the incident, which took place around 2:30am October 27th outside the Haven, formerly known as the H Bar on South Van Buren Street.  Anywhere between 20-30 people were reportedly involved in the large fight.

When officers arrived on scene to break up the riot, Williams and the rest of the crowd took off running. Police reportedly tried to chase Williams down and told him to get on the ground, but he allegedly refused. Two officers were injured during the pursuit.

An arrest warrant was requested for Williams on October 31st; he remained at large until he was served Wednesday. Williams was charged with Participating in a Riot and Interference with Official Acts causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to six years in prison. He was released on his own recognizance pending arraignment.
