Two teens plead guilty to stabbing at West High

Two teenagers who allegedly broke into Iowa City West High School and assaulted another teen have pleaded guilty to burglary charges.

The Gazette reports 16-year-old Moayed Elsid of Iowa City and 17-year-old Tion Exum of Coralville were both  initially charged with first-degree burglary. Last week, they both pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and willful injury and were sentenced to three years of supervised probation.

A third boy, 16-year-old Nathaniel Washington of Iowa City was also charged with first degree burglary. His case was moved to juvenile court after all three had charges filed in adult court.

The three teens were not students at West.

They allegedly broke into the school after 10pm August 23rd and were seen on surveillance video chasing another teen through the hallway, punching, kicking and stabbing him. The boy got cut on his left arm.

The identity of the victim was not released. A no-contact order was issued between the victim and the three teens.
