A Coralville man was arrested early Sunday after a disagreement over how his live-in significant other was handling their shared child.
At around 3:10 am, officers were dispatched the 22nd Avenue apartment of 23-year-old Madou Fomba on reports of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, the victim told police that she was moving their two-month old child onto the bed and Fomba did not like the way she grabbed the child.
Fomba allegedly tried to grab the baby and the woman and rolled onto the child. She then reportedly pushed Fomba away, and he responded by trying to pull the woman off the bed. He allegedly started punching the woman’s legs, causing pain and bruising.
Fomba was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a year in prison if convicted.
A no-contact order was requested.
