The latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll shows voters preferring the Democratic candidate over the Republican candidate in two of the state’s four districts.

The Register reports the latest results show a shift from the previous Iowa poll in September. In that survey, Republican candidates were preferred over Democrats statewide, 52% to 44%. Christina Bohannan held a 3-point advantage in the 1st District in September, while voters in the three other races favored Republicans.

Now, Bohannan has a 16-point margin in the 1st District over incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, who is seeking her third term.

Democratic candidate Lanon Baccam has a 7-point advantage in the 3rd District, where he is challenging  Republican U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn.

In the 2nd district, incumbent Republican Ashley Hinson is holding onto a 3-point lead over her Democratic challenger, Sarah Corkery.  As recently as June, the poll showed Hinson with a 21 point lead, that shrunk to 8 percent in September.

Iowa’s 4th district shows Republican Randy Feenstra enjoying a 16-point advantage over challenger Ryan Melton.

The results were released a day after the Iowa Poll showed Kamala Harris taking a narrow lead over Donald Trump among voters in the state. Trump had a 4-point lead in September, but is now down to Harris by three points.

At a campaign rally in Pennsylvania Sunday, Trump tried to discredit the poll results. He said, “It’s called suppression. They suppress. And it actually should be illegal.”

Iowa had been all but written off as a Trump state.
