Three men have been taken into custody after a reported assault in North Liberty.

North Liberty Police were called to 160 Sugar Creek Lane just before 11:00 Thursday morning. Two men who live at the address…24-year-old Markhail McCray-Miles and 24-year-old Anthony Hadley…allegedly punched another subject until that person fell to the ground. Police say the two continued punching and kicking the man, leading to facial and rib injuries.

McCray-Miles and Hadley are each charged with Assault With Intent to Inflict Serious Injury. If convicted, they each face a maximum of two years in jail.

During the investigation, a third man…identified as 52-year-old Jereme Goltz of Amana…was arrested on an outstanding warrant for skipping a court hearing in a previous drug case. Goltz’s backpack was found in a nearby dumpster. Investigators say it contained a meth pipe and three boxes of ammunition. Goltz reportedly claimed he was trying to sell the ammunition. He’s a convicted felon, and as such was charged with Dominion or Control of an Offensive Weapon as a Felon. If convicted, Goltz faces a maximum of five years in prison.
