A drunk driving suspect pulled over near Hills reportedly had multiple guns inside his car.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a 2005 GMC Sierra for registration and seat belt violations on Observatory Avenue near Highway 218 just after 9:45 Sunday morning. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Spencer Grout of Riverside, allegedly showed signs of intoxication, showed impairment on field sobriety tests, and registered a breath alcohol level of .123%.
Deputies say Grout was in possession of three loaded firearms and one unloaded firearm. He was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons. If convicted on the weapons charge, Grout faces a maximum of one year in jail.
