A North Carolina woman was arrested in Indiana after an alleged noncustodial abduction of an 11-year-old in Iowa City.

According to the Indiana State Police, they were notified by a detective with the Iowa City Police at 2am Monday about a child abduction case. They believed the suspect was on their way to the east coast and would likely be heading through Indiana.

Within the hour, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix was located by a state trooper at a gas station in Indianapolis matching the description provided.  The child was in the vehicle with two adults.

36-year-old Ronique Pittman of Goldsboro North Carolina was arrested on the Iowa warrant for child abduction by a non-custodial parent.  The 11-year-old was taken to the Indiana State Police post in Indianapolis and eventually turned over to the Department of Child Services to arrange reunification with the custodial parent.
