A Coralville man accused of trying to entice an underage subject to have sex with him has been sentenced as part of a plea deal.

Judge Brandon Schrock sentenced 36-year-old Adam Vanourney of Holiday Road to a pair of five-year prison sentences on Friday. He pleaded guilty to a charge of Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 16 for Sexual Purposes and a third or subsequent Controlled Substance Violation last month.

Police say Vanourney began communicating with a subject he believed to be under 16 years of age, and reportedly talked about sexual acts that he wanted to perform with the juvenile.  He then made arrangements to meet with the subject so they could engage in the described sex acts.

Vanourney arrived at a predetermined Iowa City location in April, where he was approached by police. When confronted, he allegedly threw down a wadded-up time sheet containing a baggie of suspected methamphetamine.
