An Iowa City man with a lengthy criminal history who had a warrant for his arrest on an indecent exposure charge was allegedly found with meth upon his arrest.
29-year-old Rodney Bryant of Hollywood Court was reportedly seen standing in the front yard of a Taylor Drive residence Friday afternoon and was recognized by an officer from previous incidents. Knowing he had an active warrant, the officer placed Bryant under arrest.
A search incident to arrest allegedly found a baggie containing a crystal-rock substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The warrant was for an incident at the laundry room of the Town and Campus Apartments on September 8th. That afternoon, management reportedly saw Bryant masturbating in the upstairs laundry room. He was also on scene September 5th committing the same act and had previously been arrested for that incident. Surveillance cameras captured Bryant on both days.
He faces a second Indecent Exposure charge, as well as a 3rd or subsequent Controlled Substance violation. If convicted on both counts, Bryant could be sentenced to up to six years in prison.
