A Marion man faces child endangerment and drunk driving charges after he was pulled over by Iowa City Police.

Just after 3:45 last Sunday afternoon officers initiated a traffic stop on a 2006 Toyota Sequoia near the intersection of Burlington and Gilbert Streets after someone inside the vehicle reported they believed the driver was drunk. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Jonathan Crandall of Arapahoe Drive, reportedly showed signs of intoxication, performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and refused breath testing. He also allegedly admitted to drinking prior to the stop.

There were three children in the car who were five, 12, and 15 years of age.

Crandall is charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense and two counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of six years in jail.
