University of Iowa football wide receiver Kaleb Brown has announced he will redshirt the rest of the 2024 season, and will likely be entering the transfer portal.

Brown announced his intentions Monday morning on Instagram. His post said, “I have decided to utilize my redshirt year and will not be playing in any additional games this season.  I wish my teammates the best of luck this season and hope for the continued success of the program.”

He has two years of eligibility left.

Brown transferred from Ohio State last season and caught 22 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown. He appeared in three games this season; he had one reception for 18 yards, and was only on the field for one play in Iowa’s win over Minnesota. A soft tissue injury kept Brown out of Saturday’s game at Ohio State. An OWI arrest over the summer kept him out of the season opener per team protocol.

Head Coach Kirk Ferentz will host his weekly media session Tuesday at 12:45pm.
