A Marion man accused of lifting the shades of an Iowa City apartment window from the outside and masturbating in front of the resident now faces more charges after he allegedly peeked through other Iowa City apartment windows two days later.

The masturbation incident reportedly occurred just before 2:30 on the morning of September 11th. Arrest records indicate 43-year-old Patrick Martinson of East Post Road removed the screen on a window in an occupied apartment on the 600 block of South Johnson Street, lifted the blinds, and began masturbating in full view of the resident without her consent as she was sleeping below him, telling her, “You know you like it.” Martinson was initially charged with Indecent Exposure and Intentional Trespassing. He now faces an added felony charge of 2nd Degree Burglary after the alleged victim told police Martinson had crossed the threshold of her window, and when she woke up she believed he was going to sexually assault her.

Police now say between 2:15 and 3:15 on the morning of September 13th Martinson intentionally peeked into the windows of three different apartments on the 400 block of South Dubuque Street while residents were present inside. He now faces three new counts of Intentional Trespassing for those incidents.

If convicted on all current charges against him, Martinson faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.
