A dispute over his job performance has led to a felony charge against a Coralville man.
Iowa City Police were called to 2751 Northgate Drive…listed in Google records as Steindler Orthopedic Clinic…just before 10:15 Wednesday night after 27-year-old Devontay James of Coral Court reportedly assaulted co-workers. Arrest records indicate James became upset over being reprimanded by a supervisor over unsatisfactory performance. The two became involved in a physical altercation, and James eventually went outside after allegedly striking the supervisor in the face. Once in the parking lot, he reportedly started another verbal altercation with another coworker while she sat in her vehicle. James allegedly reached into the woman’s car and struck her in the face, causing a visible injury near her left eye.
James is now charged with 1st Degree Burglary and two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 27 years in prison.
