A Coralville woman was arrested after she and another suspect allegedly stole an electric scooter.
Police were dispatched to the Dubuque Street residence of the victim, who stated that her Segway Kick scooter had been taken from a bike rack outside. The property manager then reviewed the surveillance video, and it reportedly depicted 32-year-old Jennifer America Capi of Boston Way and 34-year-old Tylor Hogan “dumpster diving” in the parking lot behind the apartment building.
The two are then allegedly observed walking to the bike rack and tampering with the scooter for about half a minute before removing it and walking away to the west.
A warrant was requested on September 1st; she was served on Thursday and charged with 3rd degree Theft. If convicted on the charge, Capi could be sentenced to up to two years in jail.
