An Iowa City woman is accused of intentionally ramming another car with her own, then telling police the victim was the perpetrator.

Iowa City Police responded to the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street just after 4:15 on the morning of September 14th after 29-year-old Shana Allen, who lives at the complex, called 9-1-1 to report a man had intentionally struck her car with his. Investigators say video evidence showed Allen had actual sideswiped the male’s vehicle, then drove past it and backed into it, striking it again. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

Allen is charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief and Making a False Report to 9-1-1. If convicted on both counts, she faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
