A two-vehicle accident in Kalona closed down a portion of Highway 1 Wednesday morning.
Kalona first responders and the Johnson and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices were called to the accident scene at Highway 1 and 540th Street just before 9:45 a.m. The accident temporarily blocked the northbound lane of Highway 1, and a secondary accident was reported on Highway 1 just north of the incident scene about a half-hour after the first crash.
There are no reports of injuries, potential charges, or a damage estimate.
