A suspect on probation for a Johnson County weapons conviction is now accused of threatening a witness with a gun in Linn County.

19-year-old Noah Jefferson pleaded guilty to a charge of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon after an incident on November 2nd of 2022, when he was still a juvenile. In February of this year he was given a ten-year suspended sentence and put on three years of probation in Johnson County court.

Linn County officials now say on July 19th of this year Jefferson and a group of others assaulted a victim by repeatedly punching, kicking and kneeing them. A witness yelled “police” in an attempt to break up the assault, but Jefferson reportedly flashed a gun at the witness in an effort to intimidate them.

Jefferson was taken into custody last month and now faces a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail, as well as a violation of his probation and the possible reinstatement of the ten-year weapons sentence.
