The Iowa State Patrol has named the victims in last week’s deadly car crash near West Liberty.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:43 last Wednesday morning on the 1200 block of Elder Avenue. A 2006 Chevy pickup was traveling northbound and reportedly failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the road to the east, struck a field driveway, vaulted, rolled several times, and came to rest in a bean field.
One of the passengers…24-year-old Aaron Slaughter of Lone Tree…was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver…23-year-old Garrett Love of Lone Tree…and a second passenger…18-year-old Adrianna Timmerman of Wapello…were able to escape the vehicle on their own and were transported to the University of Iowa Health Care Campus Medical Center for treatment.
The accident closed down Elder Avenue for several hours. It remains under investigation.
