Tiffin man faces charges after fighting in downtown Iowa City

A Tiffin man was arrested over the weekend after fighting then resisting arrest in downtown Iowa City.

The incident occurred just before 2am Saturday on Washington Street.  18 year old Ryker Jones was allegedly observed engaging in a physical altercation.  When officers told Jones to stop, he failed to comply and reportedly ran away before eventually being apprehended.

Jones had the odor of alcohol on his breath along with bloodshot watery eyes. He allegedly refused a PBT, and a fictitious Iowa driver’s license was reportedly found on his person post-arrest.

Jones faces charges of Disorderly Conduct, Interference with Official Acts, Public Intoxication, and Possession of a Fictitious ID. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 15 months in jail.
