An accident in rural West Liberty early Wednesday has resulted in a fatality.
The Iowa State Patrol says the incident occurred at approximately 12:43 am on the 1200 block of Elder Avenue. A 2006 Chevrolet was traveling northbound and reportedly failed to negotiate a curve . The vehicle left the road to the east, struck a field driveway, vaulted and came to rest in a bean field.
The 23-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger were injured and transported to the Iowa Health Care Campus by West Liberty Fire & Ambulance. A 24-year-old passenger did not survive the accident.
Names of the individuals involved are currently being withheld. The accident remains under investigation.
