North Liberty Fire Department extinguishes Mobile Home fire

The North Liberty Fire Department extinguished a mobile home fire early Monday.

According to a release from the City, the Department was dispatched just after 1:30 am for a report of a fire in a mobile home in lot 22 at Holiday Mobile Home Court.

As a North Liberty police officer first arrived, fire and smoke were seen coming from the mobile home and the adjacent homes were evacuated to the fire building.

Arriving firefighters found no one in the building and discovered the blaze burning in the living room and bedrooms.

Crews were on the scene for approximately two hours.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The building is a total loss, and no loss estimate is currently available. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupant. One firefighter was injured with a laceration to the arm, evaluated at a local Urgent Care, and released.

Firefighters from Coralville and Solon assisted in the effort, as did the North Liberty Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service, Linn County REC, North Liberty Water Department and the Johnson County Emergency Communications Center.
