An Iowa City man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman who came to his residence earlier this month.

The incident occurred the afternoon of September 8th.  According to police, the woman came to 26-year-old Mohamadou Bah’s Keokuk Street home to provide her Illinois LINK card to him.  Bah reportedly approached the woman aggressively, asking her what she was doing at his residence.

The victim believed at one point Bah shoved her, and she tried to strike him. Bal allegedly responded by grabbing her, picking her up off the ground and slamming her down. She reportedly hit her head on the ground, suffered a bleeding injury to her knee, and had other scrapes as a result.

The woman had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of a possible head injury.

Bah was charged with Assault with Intent to inflict Serious Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two years if convicted.
