Iowa City Police have arrested a man they say was distributing child pornography via social media.
30-year-old Devin Kelly of Briar Drive was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 9:45 Saturday night. Kelly is accused of using Snapchat to distribute two photos depicting children engaged in prohibited sex acts. The incident dates back to January of 2021. A check of a digital device belonging to Kelly reportedly turned up approximately 437 images and videos of children engaged in sex acts.
Kelly is charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Possessing a Depiction of a Minor in a Sex Act. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
