Iowa City Police say a drunk driving suspect crashed his car with three small children inside.
Arrest records indicate 35-year-old Mamba Kalenga was involved in a motor vehicle collision outside his Davis Street residence at 3:15 Friday afternoon. Witnesses say Kalenga’s 2010 Chevy Traverse hit a parked vehicle multiple times while three children under the age of five were inside Kalenga’s vehicle.
Kalenga’s breath alcohol level was measured at .145%. He was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and three counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of seven years in jail.
