Allegedly masturbating in an apartment building laundry room has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man.
Iowa City Police say witnesses observed 29-year-old Rodney Bryant of Hollywood Court wandering around the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street around 9:30 on the night of September 5th. He was later reportedly seen masturbating inside a laundry room at the complex, which was also captured on security video.
Bryant then left the laundry room and allegedly walked into an open apartment, where he asked the resident if she had anything to eat. The woman asked him to leave, which he did.
Bryant was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 9:15 Friday night and charged with Indecent Exposure. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
Bryant, who has a lengthy criminal history, pleaded down a 2nd Degree Kidnapping charge to Child Stealing in 2019 after he was accused of grabbing a three-year-old child on Taylor Drive and carrying him several feet before the mother was able to pull the child from his grip. Bryant served a 20 day jail sentence.
