People who remember Will Farrell filming scenes at the Deadwood last year can see the footage as part of a new documentary screening at FilmScene tonight.
“Will & Harper,” the story of Farrell and longtime friend Harper Steele, an Iowa City native, was picked up by Netflix after it premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. It is being screened at select theatres tonight, and the Iowa City screening will feature an introduction specifically for audiences here.
Netflix will stream the documentary starting September 27th.
The documentary tells the story of the pair’s 16-day cross country trip from New York to Los Angeles in a vintage paneled station wagon.
Steele is the creative director for the Funny or Die, a comedy video website that was founded by Will Farrell and others in 2007.
