Iowa City man charged with using stolen credit card

An Iowa City man faces a felony charge after allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card to rack up over $3000 in charges.

According to the investigation, the incidents took place on October 30th last year.  19-year-old Antonio Halvorsen of Woodbine Circle was at a bank location on the Coralville Strip between 10am and 2pm with the victim’s credit card.  He allegedly was caught on surveillance video using the card to complete attempt CashAPP transactions worth $3300 in total.

A warrant for Halverson’s arrest was issued on May 16th. He remained at large until he was booked at the Johnson County Jail Sunday. Halvorsen is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card and could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted.
