A HawkAlert was issued by the University of Iowa Wednesday night for a reported stabbing near downtown Iowa City.
The alert was issued just before 6:45. It reported that a subject had been stabbed near the intersection of Gilbert and Burlington Streets. The all-clear was signaled about 45 minutes later.
Iowa City Police later sent out a news release saying they were called to the nearby Robert A. Lee Recreation Center just before 6:30 for a fight in progress involving juveniles and a knife. One juvenile suffered a stab wound. The juvenile was treated at the scene and released.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been made available.
