An Iowa City man faces an aggravated misdemeanor charge after allegedly threatening to kill the mother of their shared child.

Police say the evening of August 20th, 27-year-old Davonte Tharpe of Ridge Street called the woman, attempting to set up a time to see their child.  He allegedly began to argue with the woman, then stated that he was going to come over to her residence and kill her.  Tharpe also sent a text to the woman saying he was coming over.

The woman stated she was in fear that Tharpe would follow through with the threat.

A warrant was issued on August 27th; Tharpe was arrested Thursday and charged with 1st degree Harassment. A no-contact order was also issued by Judge Jason Burns, with an arraignment to be scheduled at a later date.
