Police have arrested another suspect in the case of a scheme to defraud a local bank.

Investigators allege 20-year-old Rawan Guzouli opened up a checking account at MidWestOne Bank on April 4th. On April 15th and 16th, Guzouli deposited two checks totaling $14,000.  The bank said before the checks could bounce, she debited &7229.18 from her account, causing a loss to the bank.

A warrant was issued on August 23rd; Guzouli was arrested Tuesday and charged with 2nd degree Theft, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years.

Guzoli is the latest in a series of arrests, which include 43-year-old Sharetta Jamison, 24-year-old Lemark Benson, 21-year-old Darren Richardson, 22-year-old Brittney Jones,  60-year-old Brian Jamison, and 30-year-old Mariah Bentley. They are all accused of being a part of the conspiracy to defraud MidWestOne Bank, reportedly led by 27-year-0ld Dejuan Jamison. He attempted to steal a combined $108,399 from the bank, and was allegedly successful in stealing over $63,200.

According to investigators, Jamison told co-conspirators when he was writing out checks. The co-conspirators would then deposit them into their accounts, and Jamison would reportedly get electronic payments from the co-conspirators to hide the transfer of money.

Jamison faces a prison term of up to 65 years if convicted on all charges; the co-conspirators could be sentenced anywhere from 6 to 25 years in prison.
