A Solon man was arrested Sunday evening after an alleged altercation with a woman at his home.
According to police, 43-year-old Derek Flynn shoved the victim multiple times, causing her to defend herself by attempting to knee him. He then allegedly picked her up and threw her hard onto a couch, injuring her.
A witness on scene reportedly corroborated the victim’s narrative, and Flynn allegedly admitted to throwing the woman onto the couch.
A five-year-old child in the room witnessed the incident. The relationship between Flynn and the woman was not specified in the police report.
Flynn was taken into custody and charged with Assault with intent to cause Injury and Child Endangerment. Those charges come with a maximum sentence of 25 months if convicted.
