A broken pipe at the Iowa Memorial Union has caused extensive damage to the University of Iowa’s student-run radio station.

Earlier this week a pipe in the ceiling above the main air studio at 89.7 KRUI broke, flooding the entire room. Photos sent to KCJJ show soaked carpeting and a tarp over the main control board…which has since been disassembled…as well as buckets and a trash can on the floor to catch any further dripping.

One source told KCJJ that live programming would likely not return for two weeks as repairs are made. In the meantime, the 40-year-old radio station remains on the air with automation.
