Cedar Rapids Police investigating weekend shooting that left one injured

Cedar Rapids police are seeking the public’s help as they investigate a weekend shooting.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:13p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of 3rd Ave SW.  Officers were dispatched to the scene following calls for service about a shooting between occupants of two vehicles. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting, and the occupant of a nearby home suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the foot.  That individual is not believed to have been involved in the shooting.

In the course of the investigation, officers located two vehicles and three residences struck by gunfire. The Cedar Rapids Fire Department was called to the scene to shut a gas line off after it was discovered a pipe had also been struck by gunfire.
