Cedar Rapids Police have made an arrest in a Saturday afternoon shooting.
A release from the department states officers responded to the 600 block of Kirkwood Boulevard SW just before 3pm following a medical call for service and located an individual with what appeared to be two gunshot wounds. That individual was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what are considered non-life-threatening injuries.
An active investigation that lasted several hours resulted in the arrest of one individual. He’s been identified as 24-year-old Seth McGraw of Cedar Rapids. He faces charges of Willful Injury causing Serious Injury, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, Use of Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime, and Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons.
In addition, McGraw was reportedly in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms. He was charged with a Class B and a Class D Controlled Substance violation, and Failure to Affix Drug Stamp.
If convicted on all counts against him, McGraw could be sentenced to up to 64 years in prison.
The investigation into the incident continues.
